GREENVILLE, S.C, – (December 14, 2023) – TWG (www.twgdev.com), a national real estate development company headquartered in Indianapolis specializing in commercial, market rate, affordable and senior housing developments, today announces the construction of its first community in South Carolina, Cherokee Landing.
The affordable and multifamily Cherokee Landing housing community will be located along Berea Heights Road within the Berea neighborhood on the northwest side of Greenville. The 128-unit residential community will be available to tenants earning 60% or less of the area’s median income (AMI). This will allow for some of the community's most valuable members such as law enforcement and medical personnel to have access to affordable housing.
“We are incredibly excited to bring our first community to South Carolina with Cherokee Landing,” said TWG Vice President of Tax Credit Development Ryan Kelly. “This housing community will be in the heart of the growing city of Greenville, and we are certain that Cherokee Landing will continue to help the city flourish by providing affordable housing to its residents that need it most.”
Amenities of Cherokee Landing include a clubhouse, community room, indoor fitness center, business center, playground, energy-efficient appliances and more. Construction is expected to begin in July and will conclude in 2024.
The $40 million rental property is supported by low-income housing tax credits (LIHTC), tax credits from the state of South Carolina and support from KeyBank. This community will mark the 18th state that TWG has entered since its founding in 2007.
